While Tulum has quickly become a highly visited destination, there is a reason...it’s amazing! The funny thing about tourism is that most places that are overcrowded or popular are that way for a reason, not always, but often. We didn’t explore much of the town of Tulum, we spent a week though on the coast riding bikes, drinking juice and eating fresh made pasta.
Everything is basically on one street and all the restaurants, shops, and boutiques are all amazing! We were there in June for our wedding anniversary but the mosquitoes were pretty bad and it was hot with no ac. We basically had the whole place to ourselves. All the popular restaurants were not crowded at all and we never had to wait so that was a perk of going in the heat.
Coqui Coqui Residence - We adored this little gem on the beach for our visit to Tulum. Unfortunately, since we went they have now shut it down but they have other locations in other areas of Mexico now.
Be Tulum - We went to this hotel multiple times just to eat at their restaurant and enjoy the ocean view.
Mi Amor - Another great option with a beach view.
Casa Jaguar - We loved this place! It had a very sexy feel to it. The food was delicious and we got like three different juices. Definitely grab dinner here if you get the chance! You won't regret it!
Hemingways Restaurant - We checked out this cute little restaurant on the beach on our last day in Tulum. .This place was very low key and casual.
Gitano - Gitano is such a hip spot! We went here on our first night that we got to Tulum. We highly recomend it.
Posada Margherita - This was one of our favorite places to eat. The food is incredible, the drinks are amazing, and the gelato was stupid good. Go here as much as you possibly can.
Be Tulum - This place was so much fun! We went there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while we were in Tulum. You get to take your shoes off at the front before you go sit down at your table in the sand. It is just a great place!
Mayan Ruins - These are just a bike ride away from where all of the hotels in Tulum are.
Cenotes - These are great little swimming holes.
Yaan Wellness Spa - This spa looked magical. We didn't end up getting any treatments done here, (we went with the spa at Coqui Coqui instead), but this place looked amazing!
If you are going here in the Summer months Make sure your hotel has AC.
Rent bikes while you are there. We loved just hopping on our bikes and riding from place to place.
