We decided to do a road trip to Portland. How great is Portland? Everywhere you look there is another cool place or yummy spot to eat. There’s such a fun culture there that reminds us a lot of Austin and Boulder. Portland doesn’t have to try to be something, it just is what it is.
Whether it's walking through the fog filled forests, or heading an hour west to the coast, when we are in the Northwest we are constantly in awe of how beautiful it is.
Our Bnb - This cute little adobe home was the perfect place for us to stay. It has a fireplace and we brought Aspen along! It was the perfect spot to stay while we were in Portland!
Ace Hotel - You probably already know that you need to check this spot out if you go to Portland, but we’ll just give you a little reminder! Grab a coffee at Stumptown and then just sit on the couch and hang out or take pictures in the photo booth.
Ava Genes - Is this place not just the cutest? And its name too! It was really simple and delicious!
Good Coffee - We are suckers for a good coffee shop and this place was so great. It was in our favorite area of town.
Por Que No - This place reminded us a little bit of Austin. It has refreshing margs and great food! It’s also on a super cool street so just walk around and shop and then when you get hungry go eat here!
Pistils Nursery - We love this little nursery with all of it’s lovely plants, pots, and products!
Schoolhouse Electric - The perfect place for interior design lovers! Oh this place is magic! They even have a coffee shop inside so go check out all their wonderful items for your home and then go get some work done at the coffee shop connected to it.
Beam & Anchor - We love this shop. It's full of amazing artisan goods, from candles to clothing.
Sweedeedee - Sweedeedee is one of our favorite breakfast spots. You can’t go wrong with anything that you order here. There will most likely be a wait so make sure you aren't in any hurry!
Salt and Straw Ice Cream - This place has ice cream, we think the best in Portland...enough said.
Blue Star Donuts - Oh gosh don't even get us started on this place. They have some of the best donuts we’ve ever had! Sarah would eat them every day if she could!
Mount Hood - The mountain that you can 50% of the time towering over Portland is Mt. Hood. Take a drive out there and enjoy the pristine wilderness that surrounds this city.
Cannon Beach - A short 1 1/2 hour drive will take you to the Oregon Coast. Cannon Beach is one of our favorite little towns and is definitely worth the day trip.
Forest Park - In Northwest Portland sits Forest Park, an amazing network of trails that allow you to really enjoy the outdoors 15 minutes from the city.
Mt. Tabor Park - East of Portland is Mt. Tabor Park, it's probably our favorite city park that we've ever visited.
